The wind was howling everywhere north of Tamarindo, so Skeet ran south, got us out of the wind and the whitecapping, and put us on the fish- 6 Pacific sails in one hour span- 6 in 60. All 7 of our party landed a pez vela (sailfish), and got some great video, plus Skeet took some fantastic photos from the bridge he shared with us…. I spend a lot of time on boats, being from Palm Beach, and recommend Bushwacker without reservation.

Two dads and two teenagers. What a great “once in a lifetime” experience for the kids. They each caught a sailfish….one about 80 lbs, one about 100 lbs. The crew did all the work, we relaxed on the boat’s upper deck, enjoyed the few, consumed lots of drink and snacks.
The way Skeet and his crew catered to my wife and I was phenomenal. My wife had never caught a fish offshore and my experience is mediocre at best. By the end of the second day, my wife had landed 4 sailfish on her own and I was hooking and wiring in fish by myself…. Skeet knows how to find the fish! Wonderful experience with a crew that was certainly interested in continually working towards finding fish. We tagged 4 Salifish kept 4 Dorado and had a great time while doing it.
After trolling hard and catching a variety of smaller fish we finally raised a billfish mid afternoon and I ended up with my first Marlin, a 200lb Striper! My son Tim and I went to Costa Rica to celebrate his 16 birthday. We love to fish so we arranged a charter on The Bushwacker. We have fished in fresh water lakes and rivers all over the US and we have fished on charters off the coasts of Florida and Hawaii. Fishing off the Bushwacker with Captain Skeet and Denise exceeded our highest expectations. First, Skeet and Denise are delightful people and gracious hosts. Second, they are consummate pros. Skeet is an extremely skilled boat captain and fisherman. His knowledge of the coastal waters and the native wildlife is amazing. Skeet gets most of the credit for helping Tim and I land a 90 pound sailfish, a 270 pound marlin and many bonito tuna. Denise recorded our wonderful expedition with her digital camera. She captured terrific action pictures that Tim and I will always cherish. We could not recommend the Bushwacker or Captain Skeet and Denise more highly.
